UK citizen investing in US.

Hi,

I am from the UK but have recently moved to the US to invest in Real Estate.

The first thing you need to do is set up a LLC (Limited Liability Company, similar to LTD in the UK). It is a legal entity that is allowed to operate in the US, even if you are not.

You can do it all online for around $300 (Shop around!) You will need to have a US postal address so ask a friend or family member is you can use theirs.

Once you have the LLC registered to you, call the IRS and ask for a EIN number ( a social security number for your LLC) As soon as you get that you will be able to get paid. Make sure you get an accountant to advise you on the various tax returns available to you.

I hope this helps
