Real estate agent vs mortgage broker path?

I currently work in banking but I would like to transition into a career which will allow me to build a future business and a network of people who work in the real estate industry. Both offer a great opportunity to transition into owning your own company and they will both help me learn Real estate more.

With that said which path is more lucrative. Providing a young ambitious guy like myself the opportunity to make big money in which can use to buy investment property.

I am willing to work 12 hour days to make this happens. I am just looking for the best path to apply my ambition to. I plan to leave the bank in 3 months to go down one of these paths.

Any guidance would be awesome.
