Note Buying Help

Hello, new to the the site. Just sold my business and want to learn about the note buying process. Been reading all about it and I am ready to buy my first note. I checked out some sites that focus on buying and selling notes but I don't understand the logistics? For example, do I need a broker to help buy notes? Can anyone recommend a good mentor to walk me through my first note? Thanks!!
