Finding property info

There's a property on my neighborhood that looks to be abandoned. Always dark, Unkept lawn, weeds growing out of the gutters, car in the drive way without license plates. Is there a way to find out what's going on with it?

Afterwards go to the county recorders office to see if there are any liens foreclosing or outstanding. This will help you determine the legal status and your strategy (I.e. short sale?) If you wish to buy it..
