Looking for Business Partners

If your someone who is brand new to REI how does one go about looking for partners? Or look for partners who may have the same idea as you as far as investing in certain things? I feel like this is a question of how you find a friend lol. But because I my self want to look for a partner or partners but I'm not sure how people go about doing this. I really don't think walking the streets and telling people about your financial goals and to see if they are interested is one of them. Just looking for a little advice on how some of you on BP forums have hooked up with business partners or go about looking for some?

Start with your immediate network such as friends, family, and coworkers. Ask all of those people if they know anyone that's a real estate investor or interested in getting into it. Next, attend as many local REIA (real estate investor's association) meetings as you can and talk to attendees about what you're wanting to accomplish with real estate investing. Stay active on these forums and set up keyword alerts like 'Munster' and 'Indiana' so you'll be notified when a discussion about your area pops up so that you can connect with others BP members local to you. Good luck!
