New On Market Wholesaler

Hi I'm looking to do my first real estate deal preferably an on market wholesale deal in Southern California but don't know where to start or the process that goes into it. I want to partner up with an experienced wholesaler to show me the ropes I have around $1,000 to invest into EMD but need to be able to come up with a soft proof of funds.
