Inherited tenants questions

Tom Ochieng
Posted

Hello. We purchased our first duplex on January 1st. We let the inherited tenants know of the change of ownership and gave them a formal notice to vacate. Our plan is to live in one side and update the other side before renting out again. They have been on a month to month lease since 2023 and we gave them 30 days to find new housing. One tenant screamed at my husband threatened lawyers the whole 9. Then the other one has been completely silent. My question is what do we do next? Do we just wait and see if they're out at the beginning of February or should I be reaching out more? Clearly new to this so any advice is appreciated!
