Hey everyone, new member here. I was wondering if anyone has experience with real estate investing from a distance. (i.e. most done work via phone and internet/building networks locally) I am currently in Virginia but want to look at cheaper markets for investments such as Pittsburg, PA.

Hope to meet some great like-minded people here!

@James Kiefer From what I understand Pittsburgh happens to have some decent underlying fundamentals so it may not be a bad place to invest but certainly speak with local experts. However before you get started I recommend you adjust your mindset. Don't buy real estate in particular markets because they are "cheaper". Buy in markets that have good fundamentals. I understand your home market may not be attainable and there may be a need to purchase in  secondary market that have lower cost barriers of entry but don't focus solely on cost of entry. Pair cost of entry with fundamentals because that's the key part of the equation many ignore.
