Starting out in owning real estate

Jerry Sanford
Posted

Hello, I am 20 years old almost 21 and in the next following year I will be looking for my first residence. I don’t want to be chained down by the 9-5 that I have been working since I have been 16. Any advice on how I should approach looking/buying my first home?

The motivation is great, but I disagree with most of the advice here because at 20 years old, it's pretty silly to say "I don’t want to be chained down by the 9-5". It's just not that easy and the 9-5 is the security you need to invest and keep investing. The highway to financial freedom (really, time freedom) is littered with kids who left jobs too early where they didn't get to the top of the company and never maxed out their income. Learn about investing and keep moving up at your 9-5.
