Looking to connect with other mamas balancing jobs, kids and real estate!

Rachel Hadass

Hi!

I'm a rookie real estate investor hoping to find or build a community of like-minded women. This journey that we're all on can be lonely, especially when it comes to balancing W2 jobs, kiddos and real estate investing. But it doesn't have to be that way.

A little about me: My husband and I live in the SF Bay Area, we have a 3 year old and a newborn and we both work W2 jobs in the biotech industry. We bought our first rental property in Columbus, OH at the end of 2023 and are now looking to purchase our next property. All my friends work W2s and no one I know is investing in real estate so I'm really looking forward to connecting with the amazing women on BP!

What I'm looking for: Other women going through similar challenges so that we can share our successes and our failures and lift each other up. Particularly other working mamas currently investing in real estate who are just starting out like me or in the wealth building stage. If that sounds like you, let me know if you'd be open to having a conversation!

- Rachel

Look into the InvestHer platform with Liz Faircloth and Andresa, and WIIRE (Women Invest in Real Estate) with Grace Gudenkauf and Amelia McGee.

There are a lot of local real estate meetups you can go to. I know for a fact there are other women in your position that live in the Bay Area and are investing in markets like Ohio

Rachel! You’re speaking my language! My husband and I both work full time- he’s a nurse and I’m a neuropsychologist. I have 2 sons, ages 3 and 1.5. I live in NC and have 1 rental property in Philly. I’m actively looking to build my portfolio in Philadelphia and locally in NC. Also looking to build connections, would love to connect with you and other investing mamas as well!

@Rachel Hadass and @Ivorie Walker I'm right there with y'all, balancing family, job and RE.  I'm just starting out though. The property I bought and am in the process of rehabbing is out of state. My first project.  May God help me! It's tough, but I'm keen on seeing it to completion.

Joyce, I’d love to hear more about how it goes! The property I purchased is out of state but came with a tenant. I know it’ll need some work when the tenant leaves so I could use some pointers from you!

@Remington Lyman thanks for the suggestion! I'm looking into the meetups. If you happen to know anyone you could connect me with, I'd appreciate that.

@Ivorie Walker @Joyce Beck would you ladies be interested in jumping on a call together? I'm happy to coordinate.

This sounds amazing and similar to me as well. I’m in NY and while I would love to invest out of state, am currently working on buying my second investment property locally here. Have a 2 and 5 year old and trying to balance with my husband and my w2 travel schedule as well!

would love to join you ladies in community and sharing!

I too would love to jump in on this! I'm a mother of an 8 and 11 year olds, my husband works full-time but I quit my job when we had my daughter and wanted RE investing to replace my income. I'm an accountant by trade. It's been a bumpy road, but have been pretty much going it alone with the Lord! So it'd be nice to connect with other women!

Hello Rachel,

I had been a stay at home mom, then went back to work when my youngest started Kindergarten.  Now, my kids are 12, 15, and 15 (twins), and I'm an active real estate agent in Pinehurst, NC.  Would love to connect and learn/share with other moms!

My husband and I have fixed and flipped one property about 3 years ago, and are looking for one to fix and rent out (and use for vacations) at the NC coast.  I love to learn and share with others to improve their real estate journey.  Would be delighted to join with other moms to connect!

Hello Rachel and All,

I would love to connect also.  I work in R&D for a Pharma company.  My youngest is 16 and very independent so no issues there.  I have one rental and actively looking to invest in another property, preferably a duplex in the Detroit area.  I'm considering a fixer upper to retain as a rental but need guidance on how to pick reputable contractors.  Eager to learn from you ladies!  Thanks for starting this forum.

@Rachel Hadass so glad to see your post. I want to connect with mamas that love to talk about real estate. I have a 4 y/o and 9 y/o a W2 and 4 rentals, I got my real estate license and it has been so hard but I would love to share my journey. We had a bumpy start in real estate and came out of it but would love to share all our mistakes so everyone else can have an easier road to investing.

hope to talk to you soon!

Hello everyone! I am also a mama who is a stay at home looking to expand my portfolio through RE investing by finding my first deal. My kids are almost 12 and 8. I would love to be able to retire my husband so he can join me on this journey. Great to meet you all!

Hi Ladies,

I just made an offer on a multifamily today.  Could use your positive vibes that my offer is accepted.
