First House Hack! Insurance Recs?

My husband and I are under contract for our first house hack and our closing date is April 15th. It feels like all of the deadlines are coming up quickly!

That being said, I was wondering if anyone has a recommendation for an insurance agent or broker? Looking for someone that will provide the necessary coverage for our duplex at a reasonable price.

Any other tips/recommendations for a first time house hacker are welcome(:

If you're living in one of the units you're likely able to insure the property on a standard homeowners policy with some added endorsements.  Work with an independent agent that can talk through your options, shop the market, and let them quote your auto insurance as a bundle along with the property.

When you are getting the Homeowners quotes, have them also quote a Personal Umbrella policy to give added Liability coverage since you will have a renter in the house.
