Section 8 real estate investing

Isidore Kohen
Posted

Hi everyone, I have been hearing about different barriers of entry when it comes to investing in real estate. After doing a little bit of research I found that section 8 is something that can easily be done and isn't capital intensive can anyone shed some light on what this really is?

Hey Isidore, I know Section 8 is being pitched as the new, easy way to invest in out of state markets with little risk.

That's just not true.

I own 12 doors in Detroit, 3 of which I rent to S8 tenants. There are pros and cons to the program and I'd argue the popularity of section 8 has gotten a bit over its skis.

It's a great tool, but it is not a strategy;
