Seeking Advice for Our Next Real Estate Investment in or around Pittsburgh
Hey everyone,
In 2022, my husband and I purchased our first home together in Sewickley—a fixer-upper. Now, with a new baby in the mix, living through renovations has become quite the challenge. That's why we're eager to dive into our next real estate investment.
We're on the hunt for a property where we can reside temporarily during our upcoming kitchen remodel and later rent out. The options we're considering are either a multi-family unit in the city or a short term rental property in the city or up to 2 hours drive from Sewickley.
However, we're in need of professional guidance to help us make the best choice for our family and investment goals.
If you were in our shoes, what would you do next? Any tips or recommendations you can offer would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Hi Emily, I would recommend talking to your real estate agent and your lender about your plans and letting them know what you are looking for. You could also talk to some local wholesalers about what you want, and they can start looking for fixer uppers matching your criteria. Will you be doing the renovations yourselves, or have a contractor complete the work for you? When do you anticipate your kitchen remodel to be complete?
Feel free to reach out if you'd like to talk further!
