Hello everyone,

I recently purchased my first property (which is my primary home) and since then, I have become more and more interested in real estate and specifically real estate investing. I have worked in financial services and most recently FinTech since graduating college in '21 but am increasingly more fascinated by the real estate space. I'm not sure what my niche will be yet, but I am highly motivated and interested in learning and growing my skills and knowledge as a young 25 year old.

I am located in downtown Chicago and would love some advice on how to get started (besides podcasts/books, I'm already all over that). Places to find mentors, possibly learn hands on, and be able to offer assistance where its needed and just meet others who are like-minded.

@Simon Hay welcome to the forums! You are in the right place for sure. 

I am a big fan of in person meetup events, and that is how I personally got started. I also love the new Straight Up Chicago Investor's Podcast that @Mark Ainley and @Tom Shallcross run. They also compile a list of in person meetups in Chicago, which is awesome.
