Introduction to the forums
Hello everyone,
I wanted to take the time to introduce myself and hopefully start being more well known here.
I've been part of Bigger Pockets on and off for the last about 2.5 years, mostly listening to the podcasts and trainings. I finally decided to take the plunge and go premium.
I purchased my first house when I was 23, and almost immediately started house hacking (before I even knew the term existed or that it was an investment strategy). I rented to both friends and family, and have just continued to do so. I'm now on my third house (sold the first, own the second as LTR, own the third and househack currently) and looking to purchase a 4th as a new primary for me and my gf (also may house hack), which will turn my third into a combination LTR for a few close friends, vacation home, as well as a small downstairs apartment as STR via AirBnB, Vrbo, etc. I know the old addage is to never rent to friends and family, but I've had extremely good luck over the past ~10 years. Also, the gf's home will most likely turn into a LTR for us if we land the 4th house (for me, 5th collectively) deal.
My short term goal (after purchasing this next primary residence) is to start purchasing small/med 3bed/2bath homes for LTR's, preferably opportunities for BRRRR. However, I'm still learning about other opportunities as well (even recently as today with Lease Option, etc). I love doing home improvement stuff, and can fix/do most repairs and upgrades myself. So properties that arent turn key, and have an opportunity to force some appreciation are my bread and butter. Im also hoping to get a vacation home/STR in southern California in the next few years, as my GF and I frequent the area.
Long term, im hoping to make the jump to multi-family, and potentially even into apartments. My goal is steady monthly cash-flow with steadily appreciating assets. Hoping to combine that with my career income to amass a few million to retire on while having some assets to pass on for my family to help build generational wealth.
Looking forward to getting to know some of you more! Thanks for taking the time to read.
Robert
