Finding A Mentor On Craigslist?

Christian Ekeogu

I am a new investor working full-time and really want to work part-time for a local real-estate investor doing administrative work for their business. My main goal being to gain hands-on experience while I save for a down payment on my first property.

I was thinking about posting something on Craigslist in the seeking jobs section. Not sure if CL is the best route but thinking that it couldn't hurt.

Has anyone gone this route to find a mentor/REI job before? If so was it successful or did you just get a bunch of scams/spam?

@Christian Ekeogu I don't think it's as bad of an idea as @Ned Carey made it out to be. You're not just looking for someone to give you free advice and training. You're trading doing administrative work in return for it. I would love to have someone like that. Not sure if you can find it on Craigs List but it doesn't hurt to try. Just be careful of who you're dealing with. Having said all that, I think you'll have far more success going to local REI clubs as @Jay Neil suggests.
