St. Louis, MO agents familiar with the 203k loan process?

Jack Stovall
Posted

Hi there,

I've finally found a potential home that aligns with the goals I have with the 203k loan and that home is in St. Louis, MO. I would love to connect with any agents that are in the area that have knowledge and/or have successfully completed a 203k deal.

If anyone has any starting tips for me, please drop them below.

Thanks!

Jack

RE Agents only really need to know how to complete the financing section of the purchase contract and the verbiage that HUD requires. Sure, it's helpful if the RE Agent knows the timelines, and other stuff, but they are not as important on a 203k as your other team members.

The 2 most important team members you need are a 203k-experienced lender and a Certified 203k Contractor

HUD has 2 databases of the most experienced 203k lenders that you can search through.

Hope this helps!

There is no need for a "203k certified contractor" as these are not certified by HUD or FHA, this is private company promoting their courses. The FHA doesn't approve your contractor, your Lender does. It is a simple 2 page questionnaire that any legit licensed, insured and experience remodeling contractor will satisfy.
Your Lender should have a list of local Certified Consultants, which would be needed for a larger Reno budget….a separate function from  your contractor.
