New Investor Looking to Learn from House-Hacking Multi-Family Investors

Hi everyone! My name is Chris Ochoa and I'm a current PhD at UCLA focusing on molecular biology who has recently discovered the BiggerPockets group. After listening to A LOT of the BiggerPockets Real Estate Podcast and diving into some of the BiggerPockets books, I've narrowed my current area of focus to house hacking small multi-family homes in the Indianapolis area. The reason for Indianapolis is that I'll be moving their once I graduate to live with my wife. I'd love to connect with those in the Indianapolis area. Although, I'll be based in Los Angeles until the move next summer, I'd like to love to jump start those connections now.

I did have a question though to all those investing in multi-family homes in the Indianapolis area! Initially looking at the area, it appears that most of the multi-family homes are closer to central Indianapolis (North until 38th St and East/South-East until Emerson St/E Washington St). I do see some multi-family properties above 38th St but there is much less. Is this the case in your experience or when looking on the MLS? I'd love to chat with any multi-family investors in the Indianapolis area to learn from your experiences! Thank you for your time!

Best,

Chris Ochoa
