DUPLEX BUILD: CONTAINER HOME VS TRADITIONAL BUILD

Adriel Ortega
Posted

I CURRENTLY HAVE A DUPLEX IN LITTLE HAVANA IN MIAMI, FL. I AM INTERESTED IN ADDING A SECOND DUPLEX, ESSENTIALLY MAKING A 4 PLEX. THE DUPLEX THATS ON THE PROPERTY RIGHT NOW IS BUILT IN 1947 BUT HAS HAD SOME REMODELING RECENTLY. IM CURRENTLY LOOKING FOR THE MOST ECONOMICAL WAY TO CONSTRUCT 2 MORE UNITS. I HAVE BEEN LOOKING AT CONTAINER HOMES AS AN OPTION AS ITS BEEN ADVERTISED AS MORE COST EFFECTIVE BUT FROM WHAT IVE BEEN FINDING IT SEEMS TO BE ALMOST THE SAME. DOES ANYONE HAVE EXPERIENCE IN THIS AREA AND CAN PROVIDE SOME REAL WORLD EXPERIENCE? THE DUPLEX I AM LOOKING TO CONSTRUCT WOULD BE AROUND 900 SQFT EACH UNIT AND THE DUPLEX WOULD BE STACKED, ONE ON TOP ANOTHER BELOW.
