Laid off, 400k in accessible cash, chasing any opportunity. Help me escape the matrix

Recently laid off, want to use saved up cash for good use. Seems like every asset in the US is unstable dont know where to put cash want to use real estate as business to grow wealth I have all the time, and I have the money to do so but need help and guidance on finding an opportunity. I understand the different processes, I prefer STR. I do not have any experience but I am committed to helping myself and making this work. Hard to trust anyone when times are rough and interests may not be aligned. Whats the best way I can get started. I've watched the videos, I've cold called superhosts, everything in the immediate LA market seems grossly not worth it. I'm lost. 27 years old btw.

Lots of people will be chiming in here happy to help you spend your money.

The reality is you should be putting 100% of your time into finding employment.

$400k is a great starting point but without a good start already and without a W2 it puts you in a position where you're prone to doing something emotional.

Take a step back, get back on your feet, and acclimate to your new job. Then start building a real estate portfolio on the side.
