Can anyone provide insight into the correlation between the time spent learning and the length of time it takes to initiate one's first successful real estate deal?

I spent about a year learning before I made my first investment. I think it's been a success, but there have been some serious ups and downs. I was also working at a multi family syndicator at the time.

I think it depends a lot on where you're starting. Do you understand stocks? Personal finance? Have good connections? Stuff like that helps shorten how long it takes.

Hope that helps!
