Looking to get my start in Toledo OH

Hello BP,

Currently live in southern MI and looking to get into my first income property. I have been kicking around purchasing in the Toledo, OH area. I see many challenges investing in that area, but can also see advantages to learning the business. Between me and my son, we can handle most of the sweat equity. He is a plumber and I know just enough to YouTube it 😊. All funny aside, it would be awesome to link up with some other investors in the area and hopefully a realtor that could help us out.

Thanks,

Kevin

Hi Chris,

There is actual a two part plan,

  • Invest in the Toledo area to cash flow, I am not starting with a lot of money so hopefully I can get into something and start cash flowing relatively fast. I see this as low risk, even if something goes terribly south it see fit as being manageable. (hopefully!)
  • And yes! We have been on the lookout in southern Michigan, the plan is to use my son to house hack, one every year. Just need to keep him within 30 minutes of his job and find something that makes sense.

That’s the starting plan anyways, if everything pans out, we are hoping to have enough properties in 10 years to put my son in a good position.

Thanks,

Kevin
