What are the biggest mistakes you made as a new real estate investor?
Hey everyone,
I'm a new (aspiring) real estate investor and I'm excited to be joining this forum to learn from all of you who have more experience in the field. I know that real estate investing can be both rewarding and challenging, and I want to make sure that I'm learning from the mistakes and successes of others.
So, my question to you all is this: what are some of the biggest mistakes you made as a new real estate investor, and how did you learn from them?
I'm asking because I want to avoid making the same mistakes myself. Whether it's underestimating the costs of a renovation, choosing the wrong location, or investing in a property without doing enough due diligence, I want to learn from your experiences.
Please share any stories or insights you have on this topic. What advice would you give to someone who is just starting out in real estate investing? What do you wish you had known when you were first getting started?
I appreciate your time and expertise, and I look forward to learning from all of you!

You are going to make some mistakes but nothing to be ashamed. My biggest mistake early on was not taking it seriously enough and thinking of RE as an easy side hustle while I worked a full time W-2. Well I learned quickly self-managing a property is not a side-hustle but the good news was it became my loved full time job. Take RE investing seriously if you want to make serious money.
