House hacking in South Chicago

Hello, I am interested in house hacking and looking for properties in safe areas in South Chicago. Is Bridgeport, Pilsen, and Brighton Park good areas for investment? I am a little hesitant because I have heard that the crime rate in South Chicago is high. I will be working at the Illinois Institute of Technology since it is in the South so I am also looking for safe areas in the neighborhood of IIT.

congratulations on getting started in Chicago, it’s a great city to invest in and house-back 😃

✔️ Pilsen is great, lots of local businesses and things to do 

✔️ I personally lived in Bridgeport for a few years and the area has changed significantly in the past few years, great access to transportation 

✔️ I actually grew up in Brighton Park and this area has drastically changed, there is also a new development with the Chicago Park District headquarters moving there
