Recommendation on steps to take for that next level
Im 19 years of age I come from a Hispanic cultural background my highest form of education is high school so far I’ve been building the mindset for around the last year and a half just learnings and watching a Lot of podcast and other sources of information on realesate.I want get to the next level and put the action on my thoughts and ideas but I realize I still lack many things.I don’t really know people in the realesate industry.i feel like getting to know people with similar and great ideas would be a huge help with the process.I want to know how I can meet knew people like mentors, networking or even friends in the industry.

I came from a small farm town in IL and started with no money. I have a college degree, but I can tell you, and this may be controversial, that it's not helped me one bit. When we hire people for our lending or real estate companies, I don't even look a their education. I'm going to take a kid that shows me that they did the "crap jobs" growing up with no college than a Harvard grad that's never worked 100% of the time. You really have to have thick skin, nerves of steel, and patience to be successful in real estate. You also have to be humble, coachable, and be a hard worker that is willing to sacrifice your personal time to go knock on doors and learn. You might start by working on an acquisitions team for a wholesaler or builder by bird-dogging deals for them. You need no money to do that and you will absorb knowledge while you put together some capital for your first deal. You'll likely meet capital partners that can use the knowledge you acquire and you can partner on deals to build your nest egg. Learn building codes, the permitting process, get a real estate license with access to the MLS, learn trades like drywall or framing. In a nutshell, don't try to do it all at once. I've been in the business for 32 years and I can tell you that I knew everything at 19 years of age. Today I know nothing, but I learn every day. Good luck to you, young man! You'll do well and have a fantastic adventure along the way!
