New to Real Estate not sure what to do.
Hello everyone,
I am 19 years old living in North California (Chico, CA) and I'm finishing up my first year for a computer engineering major. I am currently living in a situation where I am only paying 350 per month for rent and have a part time job that pays well and have the ability to save about 800 a month. I've always wanted to do more then just a degree and have tried different little side businesses but stumbling on Real Estate and BiggerPockets, RE just made sense. I have been researching/educating myself on this topic for about 4 weeks straight and feel like I have hit a road block. I thought something such as house hacking could be a great opportunity for me but I already have low rent and opportunity to save money just not building any equity. Considering my situation, I would appreciate any advice for my next steps into my RE journey. Thank you

Thank you for your time! I have been thinking about house hacking even with my low rent so this is really helpful. Although it’s possible to live free, it seems a bit harder in my market without a lot for a down payment so possibly a small multi family with a low down payment conventional loan could be an option while keeping my low rent. Again I’m new to this so I could be wrong.
