Looking to purchase first multi-unit rental property this year!

Hi everyone - I'm looking to finally get into the real estate business - specifically starting out in multi-family (longer-term) rentals. Currently based in San Francisco where I currently own property, but looking to invest out of state - specifically in the Ohio or Kentucky area, but open to other locales. I'm deep in the research phase of my real estate journey, but looking to start assembling my team over the next few months with a goal of purchasing my first property before the end of the year (ideally later this Summer). Would love to connect with some folks on this forum to learn more about how to get started or lessons learned (if you could do it all over again, what would you do!). Would definitely love to hear form anyone who's had experience investing in the mid-west before, so I can get some insights. Excited to be here!
