I'm looking to connect and speak with any local Ohio property managers. Specially I'm looking to gain some insights on the rental market in Ohio, but specifically looking for insights on laws or other things that would be helpful from an investor perspective. Would love to set up some time to chat about some questions I have!

Hi everyone - I'm looking to finally get into the real estate business - specifically starting out in multi-family (longer-term) rentals. Currently based in San Francisco where I currently own property, but looking to invest out of state - specifically in the Ohio or Kentucky area, but open to other locales. I'm deep in the research phase of my real estate journey, but looking to start assembling my team over the next few months with a goal of purchasing my first property before the end of the year (ideally later this Summer). Would love to connect with some folks on this forum to learn more about how to get started or lessons learned (if you could do it all over again, what would you do!). Would definitely love to hear form anyone who's had experience investing in the mid-west before, so I can get some insights. Excited to be here!

I recommend you read this article on OOS investing. It explains the importance of creating your core four. You will need to get a local, rockstar Realtor, contractor, lender, and property manager.

Do what 100s of cash buyers from Ca have done, connect with those that provide rental properties 100% hand off to out of state investors in the OH markets, 10% ++ net caps are to be had. Trying to build your entire team without any experience simply will not end well.

All the best

Thanks, Bob! That's my goal! :-)

Looking to purchase my first rental property before the end of the year. Longer term goal is to learn to scale this into a real business by next year and beyond!
