Creating a Series LLC structure for RE Investing

Hi BP community,

When setting up your initial LLC for your investments, has anyone ever used a Series LLC for the ability to create multiple separate series under a main LLC? My understanding is that this is possible in IL and has advantages such as separate liability for each investment without filing multiple LLC annual filings each year. If so, do you know what other advantages/disadvantages are?

Thanks

Hi Rosalind, I would recommend giving this podcast episode a listen: Straight Up Chicago Investors Podcast. They discuss this topic as well as other LLC situations.
