Breaking 6 State Powerlifting Records Has Helped With Real Estate Investing

Investing in real estate is very similar to powerlifting, mentally. Let me explain. Say you’re in the gym and someone loads 700 pounds on a bar and tells you to squat it or deadlift it. Most people’s first thought would be, “I can’t” or “that’s impossible”. Yes, I agree 700 pounds is very heavy.

Same in real estate. If someone hands you a 700-unit apartment building, chances are you would not be able to handle managing it. With too much loaded on the bar early on you would likely crush yourself and cause injury. With too big of an investment early on, you are likely to run into issues managing it.

So, with powerlifting you start small and overtime you increase the load and increase the frequency of your training. Over years you become strong enough to handle the 700 pound lift. Investing in real estate is the same exact way. In real estate you start with the smaller, lower risk, and cheaper properties, and then you will eventually have enough money and experience to carry over into bigger investments.

Below are some pictures of my previous powerlifting meets. Next time you’re in the gym, look at the small weights just like the little deals in real estate. Please let me know what you think in the comments and connect with me! I am active in the comments :)
