New Investor - House Hacking - South Hills / Greensburg Areas
Hello everyone! New investor here getting started. I was born and raised in the Pittsburgh area and recently moved back. Looking to begin my real estate investing journey by doing a house hack with a multi-family unit. I have been doing all the research and I am ready to get started. I have the capital saved up and even my pre approval letter ready to go. I would be willing to put in some rehab work initially and utilizing the BRRRR method to get started. My plan will be to leverage that equity into picking up 2 to 3 more properties in the next 5 years. I am currently residing in an area south of the south hills but commute out to Greensburg twice a week for work. The rest of the week I work from home so the flexibility is nice. That said, those are primarily the areas I am beginning my search! I am really looking forward to connecting with people on this platform and would take any advice you all may have for a newcomer. I appreciate the help!

@Weston Homa House hacking is the way to go. I've done it 6 times and each one I've bought something that had at least little value add component to it. Since you are living there for a year it makes it easier to handle any projects that might need done and can DIY if you have the time/desire too while on site.
Then it really gets fun when you can recycle the equity you've built up to buy more and repeat the process. I would house hack as many times as you can since it's basically a built in BRRRR anyhow with so small of a down payment. Live for free then move out and let the tenants pay it off for you.
