Under Contract, Now what Do I Do? From Feasibility to Keys
Hi everyone, I'm currently working on an online course, focusing on all of the phases through the life cycle of a project and want to get some insight from your perspective on what topics are most important to learn when starting out.
The How-to Manual for Real Estate Developers so to speak.
I have over 3 decades of commercial experience starting as a superintendent and leading to Project managing positions with a couple of major retailers. Then I spent a large portion of my career as a developer and contractor and now consulting. All the while, overseeing thousands of projects across the US for many of the big brands like McDs, Walmart, Sbux, 7-11, DG, etc.
My career path working on all sides of the business, albeit uncommon, presented me a wealth of knowledge and a unique perspective that ultimately helped me throughout my career. Now I’m challenged with putting all of that into an online learning course.
I aim to create a no-******** course that is immediately useable out of the box! Not a broad outline of useless industry information that you already know but more of a detailed plan to get **** done and to give REAL LIFE ACTIONABLE skills and processes to get through feasibility, due diligence, design, permitting and entitlements, construction, and everything else in between.
Looking back, knowing what you know now, what skills or processes would you recommend for someone who is starting out in the business?
What would you like to see in a course if you are new to the business?
Also, How many hours should a course like this take, and what should it cost?
Your feedback would be greatly appreciated!
