How much does broker location matter?

Hey all, hope it’s been a great day for you. I’ve got a question today:

I’m about to join my first broker; I’m on the hunt this week. I live in a smaller town, Punta Gorda Florida, and I’m not far from Fort Myers / Cape Coral as well as Sarasota. I want to get the largest exposure possible of course, so I’m curious: do you all think it would make sense for me to join a broker located in one of these areas? Or does it not matter?

I especially love Sarasota and would love to be an agent working in that area.

Hello @Samuel Jolicoeur!

I think it does not matter... Most people find their agents and their homes online these days.

To some homeowners & potential clients, it really matters where your office is located. Most don't care.

If you know the market, understand how to effectively price a property, and can effectively demonstrate your value proposition, your office location won't matter to most people.

In my experience, the homeowners who were hung up on details like this were the most difficult to work with.

All the best!

Abel
