Finding ideal finishes through designers

Posted

Hello!
I was unsure where to post this here or somewhere else.
I have a SFH that needs moderate to major renovations throughout the home. I'm bad a choosing the right finishes in the scope of what colors work well and what doesn't. To avoid clashing theme's and colors. my goal is to rent this home out preferably short term but I may do long term.

My question is, being my first investment home, should I bother with hiring some kind of designer to help with the material choices/colors/styles/etc or keep with the contractor and work toward a plan and scope of work that way? Or can/will the property manager play that roll in advising what comparable homes are doing in the area?

Thanks!
