Purchasing a Duplex/House Hacking

hi! I just met with my first lender and they said they will not provide loans for duplexes because they are multi family and typically have two titles and they will only offer loans on single units.  I have not encountered that in any of my research.  Does anyone have experience purchasing a duplex with a conventional loan for house hacking and can share their experience?  Or if you know any banks in the Atlanta, GA area that will provide loans for a duplex?  Any insight is appreciated, thank you!
