Aspiring Real Estate agent in San Marcos, Ca

Hi BP community!

It was so nice meeting everyone during the conference in San Diego this month. I felt so welcomed by everyone and came back feeling inspired and motivated to get more involved in the real estate world. I am a rookie REI enthusiast, enjoying every bit of the podcasts that I listen to daily and all the BP books. I would like to join a brokerage where I live (San Marcos, California). I am not licensed yet but I have started studying for the exam through Aceable Agent, all self-taught using the material provided. I read that Keller Williams offers a program to prepare you for the exam to get licensed. I like the idea of studying and learning alongside others with the same goal rather than continuing to study completely on my own. Since I am aspiring to ultimately become a real estate investor, I have a particular interest in connecting with real estate agents in the area that specialize in working with investors. I like that Keller Williams is a good brokerage to join as a first timer, with all of the mentorship, training and shadowing that they offer. I am open to other ones that provide the same type of guidance and especially ones that work with investors as clients. Any suggestions on how to get started? My plan is to research local offices more in depth by checking out their reviews and social media to see if our goals and personalities would match well and then emailing them to set up a time to meet in person where I can ask questions, but I'm open to any advice. I'd like to hear from people that have been in a similar situation as me that can share their experience when they first began the journey. Cheers!

Thank you Mark for your advice. I like the idea of asking to sit in on one of their meetings. I’m attending a career night next week so I’ll get to know them a bit more. Thanks!
