Rookie RE agent looking for the right broker/mentor

Hello BP Community, I have spoken with a few brokers and have an employment offer from one. I have only recently began courses to obtain my RE license. Any advice on what to look out for before signing an employment contract as an independent contractor. This broker has been in business for 31 years, there only 3 reviews on her (all good) basically I don’t know the first thing about what look for in a broker/mentor which is what she is offering me before I even obtain my license. She has 3 other agents who are “under” her. Any information would be helpful. Thank you in advance!

Quote from @Gingah Palmer:

Oh, if I had a dollar for every time I heard a Broker say they would mentor an agent!

I hope it's true, but most Brokers claim they will mentor or train you and then they never do. The truth is, you need to take personal responsibility for your education and growing your business. Too many agents walk into the office their first day, motivated to be the best sales agent in the world, then they sit at their desk staring at the computer and wondering how they're supposed to get clients. Even if your Broker does mentor you, they're going to teach you some skills but you still have to beat the streets to generate clients.

I recommend "SOLD" by David Greene or "The Millionaire Real Estate Agent" by Gary Keller or "Ninja Selling" by Larry Kendall.
