Building vs buying a house

Julia France
Posted

I'm having a hard time finding a good real estate deal at Mexico Beach, FL. It seems it will be cheaper to just buy a lot and build. Are there any good resources or books for this? I'm a rookie in the real estate investment game. I am set on the location and I would like to STR and occasionally enjoy myself as well.

Normally, as a builder, I'd say go ahead and build something, but in todays crazy world, I'd say building a home will be more expensive and more risky. Easier (and a lot quicker) to find what you want...even if it's not perfect, you can do a lite remodel and make it perfect for you.....
