First time rental purchase, looking for advice

Hello Everyone,

I’m a newbie to real estate and looking for advice.

My aunt is selling me her childhood home she grew up in for dirt cheap. The Three bed one bath has not been lived in for a couple of years and has a lot of work to be done on it. Before agreeing to purchase the property I was curious what things do I need to do first if I’d like to fix the property up and use it as a rental property?
