Introduction - Designer for Fix and Flips - California

Hi, all! My name is Darien and I'm a seasoned designer and aspiring investor in Los Angeles, CA. I run a design practice known as Daylight Studio which helps developers and homeowners with their designs on remodels, fix and flips and ADU's. I went to school for Architecture and have been practicing in firms for over 6+ years. I've decided to take the full dive into developing by taking on the financial aspect of investing while also continuing the design/construction phase I am familiar with.

My current goal is purchase a fixer house with investors and implement my own designs for the eventual flip.  I think my eye for design and experience along with my partner who is an interior designer, makes us a strong contender in the market.  I've been keeping a close eye on properties and speaking with agents to get off market deals, but my main struggle has been finding private investments.  If anyone can provide some tips on making connections or the best way to get started I would appreciate it!

I welcome conversations with other investors, designers and developers since there's always more to learn from each other!

Glad to be here!
