Is business credit essential?

So, I've working on building our business credit for a few months now. If you are familiar, it can be quite daunting and expensive. Paying out (with net 30s, etc) to get tradelines, etc and having NO income yet, I'm starting to rethink my approach.

My husband is looking for his first flip, so credit would help in purchasing materials, etc. Buy and holds will be our main focus long-term, and eventually we may want to jump into commercial, so I was thinking business credit would be important in this area as well.

But the more I think about it, and ask around- the more I'm not sure real estate is an area where business credit is crucial, and we could be putting our money elsewhere.

thank you!
