Getting Started with 10K cash

I have 10K cash which I'm currently willing to put up to get started in real estate, bad credit I'm in process of rebuilding, but I have a lot of time to do the work necessary. My ultimate goal is to own a large portfolio of rental properties but for the moment being I'd like to get started in whichever way presents opportunity whether its a flip, own etc.. If anyone has any advice or would be willing to partner up/expose me to getting started, your advice is much appreciated. If this matters at all, my prior career path includes graduating college and working as a commodities analyst in the oil and gas space for 2 years before realizing its not my passion, walking away and working as an independent contractor. Hence my current workdays are short and I have more free time than most people. I'm not looking for any shortcuts and am willing to allocate as much time as needed to be of value to you while learning everything I can in getting started. Thank you all in advance.
