Help me get a job in real estate development!

Hello BP friends,

I've meet amazing people here and I've gained real world experience implementing what people talk about in these forums. With that said I'm at a cross roads in career. This crossroad was built over the last 5 years by investing in real estate (side hustle), networking, and absorbing as much information as possible.

I have a interview coming up with a growing real estate developer. The position is for a Development Associate. It's an entry level role.

With that said I have fears about leaving my 9-5 job. At 35 years old my skills are underutilized, professional responsibilities are low, and pay sucks. I have frustration with my current job but I don't want it to fuel the reason to leave. The short answer is I feel stuck. Changing jobs could ignite a fire and open eyes to investing on a bigger scale. I also have a good friend that works in there legal department. Good plus.

Which path would you take? What questions would you ask the company? Have you worked in this role before? Is real estate development risky to get into right now given our markets? Any response would be really appreciated.
