Hello BiggerPockets community,

I am a newbie looking for an investment property in the Austin area. The market is tough right now and has been difficult to find any properties that cash flow or that I can flip. I work full time as an engineer but one day want real estate to be my full time occupation. If y'all are in a position to give any sort of advice I would love to connect and learn from you. See what kind of strategies you guys are pursuing.

Thank you

@Eliott Elias welcome to BP and Austin! Are you physically in Austin or trying to invest remotely? Flipping with a full-time job can be challenging but doable if you are extremely organized. As the rent yields continue to compress, most investors are looking at alternative strategies to boost cash flow yield like short and mid-term rentals, rent by the room, etc. I'm happy to connect and discuss what different clients are doing in this market.
