House Hacking A Collecting Rent
Thanks for clicking on this post!
I am looking for advice on collecting rent money with my first house hack. I just bought my first property (single family home) and I am renting out two bedrooms to guys I work with. Due to the new IRS regulation on venmo and other cash apps regarding having to report any income over 600$, I am hesitant to use these platforms. I am not exactly "cash flowing" on the property but essentially just living for free minus a few small expenses.
Do I just use a cash app of sorts and claim this as a reimbursement?
How does this work?
Thanks for any help!
