New Investor in 2022

Ryan Bogrow
Posted

Hello all! Wishing everyone a prosperous new year heading into 2022.

I recently moved to NJ (Piscataway area) and have been interested in REI for awhile now. Looking to connect with like minded individuals in the area. I know that this is a pretty inflated and uncertain time to be looking at properties, but nonetheless I am looking to buy my first property in 2022. Ideally I have always wanted my first property to be a MF where I have the ability to houseback. I would likely be looking to the Somerville, Bound Brook, Watchung area to stay in a reasonable distance to my work. I would love to connect with any agents, investors, brokers in NJ!

Thanks for the reply Jonathan. You point out some great points - especially about the taxes and overall prices. I come from Ohio where housing is much more affordable for the most part. I would still like to consider MFs (probably specifically a duplex), but would also consider a SFH (as a personal residence not an investment property). Looking forward to connecting with you more on the monthly zoom meetings! I appreciate connecting with experienced investors in the area
