Use FU$ to become FI

Disclaimer: All investment strategies and investments involve risk of loss. Nothing discussed below should be construed as investment advice.

F.U. Money should not be a dirty phrase as it is super important for you to achieve financial independence. As you know, F.U. Money is having enough money to up and leave a job without worry about the financial consequences. It takes the power from your employer and puts it right in the palms of your hands. You never have to worry about losing your job or staying in a dead-end job just to pay the bills. Having the freedom to walk provides you with extra confidence at your job which leads you to be able to take on more risks - more risks, more return.

Most people I speak to that have FU Money are still working because they like their jobs and are working to continue to grow their wealth and their skillsets. FU Money does not mean you never have to work again but rather you have a lot of time to decide what and where you want.

Three great ways to achieve FU$ status- Save, invest, and increase income. Personally, I focus on a two-step strategy – 1) As a real estate agent and financial consultant I focus on increasing the amount of value I can provide to people & businesses. The more value I provide the more money I can expect to flow in. 2) I then use the extra income to increase my investments in both stock and real estate. FU money provides me with the advantages to earn even more money and build enough wealth to achieve FI.

F.U. Money at the end of the day is not about the money it is about freedom. Not just the freedom to say F#$% You to your employer but the freedom to make better choices that are in line with who you are and who you want to become. Here is a great quote from the one and only Brandon Turner –

“Your goal should be achieving freedom. Living a full life and being satisfied is about much more than gaining wealth. Achieving freedom means having the ability to do the things that bring your life the most value. Freedom might mean spending time with family, traveling the world, surfing five days a week, serving with a non-profit, or pursuing a hobby you’ve been neglecting. These are the types of things that help you live a rich life. Instead of chasing money, you should be pursuing freedom.” Brandon Turner Forbes Article

Let me know if you would like to discuss more detailed strategies to achieve FI.

Happy Holidays!
