Looking for Stories of Retired Fixed Income SS starting in REI

Need help to demonstrate to loved ones that their situation is not the end.

I have some family members who are near or into retirement age on fixed income, collecting social security, and dont have much or any assets. I told them they can still get into Real Estate Investment but I get push back. One in particular tells me if they make any income it would hurt their social security benefits. Im not knowledgable about this area but Im sure theres some truths in that. These are people who, in their 20-30s (I can recall) were all about the Anthony Robbins & Robert Kiyosaki mindset so I'll often challenge them saying "Would Tony let you say defeatist stuff like that? Would you tell Robert you can't find ways to make money?" That often doesn't sit well with them :-)

Yes I know I can't teach a new dog new tricks but I feel we're in times where a lot of people are overwhelmed with debt and gloom, on the other hand we also live in times where we have so many resources to do amazing things. This is where I wanted to see if anyone knows of any of the following that I can use as a resource for these family members. I'm sure many, even most, might not be moved by it but I want to do my part. Looking specifically for those retired who just like a young person who has no assets/capital got into REI from scratch:

  • Books
  • Blogs
  • YouTube Videos/Channels
  • Online Groups
  • Advice
  • etc

I understand existing information that is available out there for those starting in REI is not age specific and universal, but I did want to address the unique challenges that maybe those retired face, I'm sure they have their experiences that I dont know about.
