Nextdoor Investment Opportunity

I’ve got an opportunity to purchase and rent the house next to mine. It would be my first rental. Can anyone add their two cents on why this might be a good or bad idea? I think I can landlord it anonymously but there is a chance someone in the neighborhood could blow my cover…or my kids, since we will be living next door.

If it doesn’t make sense to rent I could always just flip it.

Just thinking out loud. Thanks in advance.
