Newbie in New York! Introduction / Any Tips?

Alfred Ortiz
Posted

Hello everyone,

Little about myself... My name is Alfred. I was born and raised in the Bronx. I now live in the Hudson Valley. I wasn't a big fan of high school so I got my GED and went to college. Couldn't afford it so, I joined the military. Met my wife, had a kid and did 6 years in the Air Force. Jumped around jobs doing Engineering trade, and ended up hating the labor. Went back to school, and now I'm taking my last two classes to earn my bachelor's in Computer Science. I have a great job, a good salary which has led me here to learn how to invest.

I'm looking to tackle the BRRRR method to create some cash flow. First I need to get rid of all my existing debt, then I want to tackle investing in single-family homes to build my portfolio. In the meantime, I'm listening to BP podcasts and bought David's BRRRR book.

Any tips for a newbie in New York trying to get into the BRRRR Method? Much appreciated!
